Education for Free (General School Log, all) (OPEN LOG)
Who: Anyone who wants to go to school
Where: Any of the schools found in the Calendar (there are other schools, but your characters would only be going to those)
Summary: General School log! Start your own threads, make threads, or just have your character going to school and meeting the others. You have carte blanche.
Warnings: Nothing for now.
April 1st. While for many it would be a day for jokes and pranks, in Japan (and by extension, Hinoto-Ri who clung on some things from the past like precious memories), it was the start of the school year.
Those that were of age had gotten their papers already, and hopefully you had read the messages involving it. Otherwise, SURPRISE!
Thankfully, it didn't seem like the government was pushing for you to go absolutely, but they were STRONGLY SUGGESTING it for your own good. Your own enlightenment, if you will. Besides, it was free education, why pass that up?
These are the adventures of those inside of school on their first days...

He will, however, finally let go of Minako's hand and wonder just how long Miki's been around, and try very hard to maintain his composure.]
We weren't planning anything.
[He certainly wasn't. He doesn't know where Miki's getting her "we" from, but there was no "we" about it. Any planning was clearly one-sided on Minako's part. He hopes she remembers to schedule in room to breathe.]

Yes we were. Senpai said he doesn't know how to have fun in the summer so I was coming up with things to do.
[This is a very, very loose summary. Also her hand is creeping back towards his again.]
no subject
Oh I see!
...how about if we make a shichirin for summer? We could cook vegetables and meat on it! [Well you guys could cook meat on it. She'd stick with veggies and maybe a side of chicken.]

It takes a bit of concentrated effort, but he sits up and lets his hand retreat into the relative safety of his pocket. He wants his coat back. This one's inadequate.]
...You want to make one?
[Not like they can't be bought somewhat economically for the uses you can get out of it. He'd say Miki's suggestion sounded reasonable (more reasonable than some of Minako's), except having a shichirin meant going places to use it. And who the hell knew where they'd end up.]
no subject
[She may have lost his hand, but now that he's sitting up, his arm is easily accessible. She takes that instead.] Or we could try fishing and cooking what we catch. Do you eat any seafood, Miki-chan?

that probably have disaster waiting to happen written all over them.At Minako's question she does turn around to face her more, grinning as she stretches and puts her arms behind her neck.]No, I'm afraid never really liked the taste. Even the undercooked carrots at the orphanage were better. I'm not allergic mind you, otherwise I'd have a hard time considering our country's love of the stuff. Fish oil is fine, and I won't say no if someone insists they offer me unagi, but I'd rather have yakitori!
no subject
He can't win.
He doesn't know what's worse: saying something or saying nothing at all.
He opts to say nothing this round, neither condoning nor condemning the idea.
He does make a face at the mention of the orphanage's carrots, however, bristling at the memory with a morally offended grimace. Shit, they were terrible.]
no subject
I'm fine with yakitori, too. We can probably try all kinds of different things. I think some of those books have good grilling recipes...
[and now, directly to Shinjiro, so he can't hide behind silence anymore] What would you want to try cooking?

There are plenty of things he could cook on a shichirin. Finally try his hand at cooking Hibachi-style food and see if shichirin still cook as evenly as they say. He wouldn't mind trying it. Chicken was popular, and eel, and grilled vegetables were far better than any of that. Could even make a stew out of it if he tried, and not have to think of Aki wanting everything on a bed of rice.
But to say something like that would make it seem like he was tacitly approving whatever they were planning. He's afraid of what he might get roped into. You don't agree to anything without having the facts right in front of you.
The only godsend is that class starts again in fifteen minutes.
He never thought he'd be looking forward to it, but Minako's good at accomplishing the impossible, especially when she has an accomplice.
He keeps his face completely passive.
He can survive fifteen minutes. He's survived worse.]
I'd have to look.

Well, there's lots of time to figure that out before summer gets here!
no subject
Exactly! We have plenty of time to make one...and failing that, we can just buy one! Either way, it's could be a good learning experience...
