The 13th Hour - GENERAL LOG
Who: EVERYONE who is in the Scorpio Event and not doing the boss battle.
Where: The Entire City
Summary: 13th hour. The Perfect Link's Mutation Skill is unlocked and now people have a chance against the swarming Scorpions. Unfortunately, for some, this just means the paranoia hit a new low....you can group and join each other's posts and try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
13th Hour.
The city was in chaos. As it hit, the population attempted to return home, but it was too late. The scorpions continued to swarm, the police force trying to help as many as they could. You might even spot the Anoli once in a while...although they were only helping those that had Persona. Regardless, they were, at least, doing something.
The corpses of millions of scorpions were littered in the city streets. But once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated. But that was not the worst of it...
Oh no...
The Scorpios of the city now had a Scorpion tail dragging behind them, capable of causing Poison and Paralyzing damage. On a normal human, this was already terrible enough...
On a Persona User....they needed to be taken down.
Quickly.
And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission; you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Scorpio Ward...

He got better, though! But his fighting partner wasn't too pleased with him... Which is why he's fighting extra hard to make sure she doesn't get hurt and doesn't have to overexert herself because WOW does he feel guilty exploiting his angel powers only to freak someone out. The problem with fighting extra hard, though, is that he's been dashing and dodging a lot, without keeping an eye on his stamina.
Which means he's suddenly stopped to catch his breath.
Leaving him completely vulnerable to the stronger monsters.

"YOU BETTER NOT DIE ON ME AGAIN!" she bellowed, probably a bit louder than she intended, but she had ever reason in the world to be annoyed.
Seriously, she was so pissed that she didn't even look as she swung an arm back, shooting a monster right between what passed for its eyes.

Pit flails, leaning back on one foot. That seemed to get the wind back in him, at least!
"I'm sorry! I won't ever do it again I promise I swear!!!" And now he's bending forward, hands pressed together in supplication.
Pls forgive the angel!
no subject
Tsuntsun much?"You better not!" she snapped. "I'm having a hard time forgiving you as it is!"

It was just as well, she decided, since she didn't feel right straying too far from Guybrush considering the state he was in. At the very least, she could try to keep him and anyone else inside safe for the time being.
Thus, anyone who stops by will find one cutlass-wielding pirate lady outside the apartment building, stabbing at scorpions with extreme prejudice.
no subject
...She COULD get hurt!
He pushes his way out of the fort, and somehow forces his shaking knees (honestly, he can feel all the inventory jittering around) to the door. On the count of three, he wrenches it open, stumbling as best he can over to the elevator. *Elaine! I'm coming!*
no subject
And now there was a crazed, masked Scorpio staring her in the face.
Oh. Well. Then.
no subject
Not that there's really any actual worry of that. It's just his paranoia at the moment ramping up pretty much every single fear he's got. Which... might also explain why El Pollo Diablo is already out and about by the time the elevator reaches ground floor and he stumbles out, watching Elaine in action. Oh geez...
Okay, uh, inventory. Inventory. Well, he's got this cool gun swordy thing, but she's kind of in the way right now. There's gotta be... oh, right, he's got spells and stuff, doesn't he?
Not a lot, mind. He can see that weird stringy thing that comes out of everybody when he's got this guy out, and he gets the feeling he can help her duck and run -- which would be fine, except Elaine never ducks and runs from anything if she can avoid it. Which leaves...
Eh, what the heck. What was it? "Truck Asia?"
The chicken buk-boks in annoyance. Which one supposes might mean "That's Tarukaja, you idiot" in chicken talk. Which it casts on Elaine, knowing what he wants.

Though he had to admit the coincidence behind the identity of this Persona felt like a bad joke.
"Principality, use Holy Arrow!" Thrusting out his free hand, the angel Persona appears behind him and rained down arrows of light onto one of the scorpions, not leaving much of a dent but causing it to stagger on its feet in what appeared to be a state of confusion. In his other hand, Aziraphale holds a great flaming sword, which he uses to strike down another scorpion coming up behind a civilian. The civilian thanks him and runs off to the safety of the indoors as Aziraphale turns on some of the other scorpions.
While he isn't being swarmed, he could use some help protecting other defenseless civilians caught on the streets.

Minako almost wants to stop and admire it, or at least work out the physics of how it works, but there are scorpions creeping up behind the man with the flaming sword and angelic Persona.
"Quetzalcoatl!" Her Evoker fires and the winged snake-god appears. A blast of Magarula, boosted to gale-like proportions by Wind Boost and Wind Amp combined, rips across the street centimeters away from Aziraphale. The trio of enemies are caught up in the torrent, spin across the sidewalk and slam into a brick wall. The wall cracks slightly and they twitch, and stop moving.
no subject
Aziraphale quickly jumps away from the blast of wind and looks back at Minako with wide eyes. "Th-thank you, miss..." Though he's incredibly frightened by the fact that she had almost hit him... "Could you please be a... tad more careful?" He almost lost his nose.

But the streets, once reached, don't make that simple. There are scorpions and Scorpios everywhere and civilians who need help. Undoubtedly some splitting up will end up happening.
Minako moves as efficiently as she can, sometimes vaulting piles of monster corpses and slicing through stingers with her naginata, others mowing down encroaching hordes with fire from Orpheus, wind from Quetzalcoatl or ice from Lakshemi. It's tiring, but she can't afford to rest. Every time she does she spots another elderly man trapped in his car, or a young woman beset by mutated scorpions on a fire escape. Any help in these endeavors would be very much appreciated.
Because this had to happen eventually
"DEATH FROM ABOVE!"
He lands on top of one of the giant scorpions, the blade of Laevateinn burning through the carapace to leave a scorch mark on the pavement below. He gives you an enthusiastic wave as he hops off the dead scorpion, Laevateinn burning itself free behind him.
"Hiii~!"
no subject
"Good to see you too, but is it really the time to be playing around?" And what was with jumping off the railing?! That could have been dangerous. Never mind that she'd have risked the same thing if she'd judged it to be necessary.

Normally realizing this would make her freeze up and wonder what was wrong with her. Here, she doesn't have time to really dwell on it and even if she did she'd try to remember what her brother had told her in their brief time together before Nyx descended: it was all right to like a good fight. It was even all right to have fun taking out her enemies. As long as she wasn't cruel, as long as she kept from becoming the monster she feared it meant she could be, it was all right.
This was why her headphones, now hanging around her neck instead of being firmly clamped over her ears and blaring Another One Bites The Dust to keep herself from dwelling too much. Music had always been her way of dealing with stress and that even included in battle when she needed to keep her personal conflict as much in check as possible. Especially now when lives depended on it
"Minako!" she shouted when she spotted her "cousin" of sorts just up the road, trying to save a young woman on a fire escape. She called forth her persona--she'd questioned why Orpheus was now Euterpe at a later date--and used the winds of Garula to knock them back from the escape once she was in range.
"Want some help?" she asked, hoping against hope it wasn't obvious she was enjoying herself on some level. The last thing she needed was for Minako to wonder what was wrong with her, too.
no subject
She waved up at the woman once the scorpion had been dealt with. "Get inside, okay?"
And then she turned to Minami. "Of course! I saw another group heading down the alley, we should be able to catch up to them."

Taking no chances, Duo shot one of the scorpios with a stungun from the high vantage point of a fire escape. He was a bit alarmed to see that the response, rather than agonized twitching followed by unconsciousness, was slight twitching followed by a death glare. Half a dozen of the monster scorpions followed his glare, then started marching on Duo, climbing the wall of the building.
"Well crap."
no subject
Duo? she asked, trying out her Persona's alleged new functionality of letting her communicate telepathically. She knew better than to question psychic powers by now. I'm in a sniping position across the street. I'm going to do something that should let your weapons hit the scorpions harder. Do you, er, copy?
She should have just stuck with her COMP watch, this was weird.
no subject
"I hear ya, I'm gonna focus on not getting stabbed and poisoned."
He started quickly climbing the fire escape as he reached into his jacket and pulled out a real gun. The scorpions were following close behind.

If you're injured and he sees you, don't be surprised if you feel a sudden wave of healing energy by way of the spell Diarahan. He can even be found bringing unconscious people (or at least, unconscious people lacking in scorpion tails!) back to groggy wakefulness with Recarm. After all, every little bit has got to help, right?
Unfortunately, however, as the night wears on, his energy really starts to flag, and he has to pause often to rest, ducking out of the way of scorpions to recover his energy enough to take on the next wave or heal another person injured in the fray....
no subject
Not literally (thank goodness), but even in such a large city they were bound to run into each other sooner or later. Or simply because fate had a tenancy to work that way, even in a reddish sky and a mass of mutated scorpions.
"Arisato!" she runs over. "Are you--" She stops midway to grab one of the larger beast and sling it over her shoulder, making it slam into the nearby wall. "...tch, these things are everywhere! Are you alright?"
no subject
"Hm? Oh -- yeah. I'm fine. Just... getting tired."
He gives her a wan sort of smile as he uses his Evoker
because it looks coolbecause it's just... easier for him when he's tired than to focus enough to do it manually. He knows he should probably stick to the more natural form of summoning personas, but he's just so used to this way, and it's just enough faster that it seems worth it to fall back on muscle memory rather than exercising a new method. In any event, he calls forth Yamato-no-Orochi to slam Deathbound into a series of several scorpions edging their way closer."You okay?"
