Like Bulls in a China Shop: Taurus Log

▼ The Darkening Days

Who: Everyone. This is a general catch-all Taurus Event log. If you would like to do your own separate logs either due to pacing or easier loading, by all means, please do so!
Where: The Entire City
Summary: The last days of the Taurus event as things start to sour dramatically. During the 13th hour, Mutation Skills are unlocked for certain people (see the info post here) and now people have a chance against the swarming mechanized bulls. Unfortunately, for some, this means the paranoia hit a new low....if you want, you can get together and join each other's posts to try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: Strange Attitudes, NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
Note: Please mark your post with what date they are happening. We are allowing anywhere from the 23th to future-dating to the 26th itself. Go on and have fun!

▼ The nights grow weary and a pattern seems to be forming...(days until the 26th)

Most of the Taurus civilians had willingly put themselves in confinement. As their symptoms began to rise, at the very least, there was little chance for them to cause problems. It looked like, hopefully, that they could hold back a lot of the damage and deaths to the city.

How completely wrong they would end up being...

▼ The day of reckoning...(April 26th, before the 13th Hour)

In retrospect, they should have realized something was wrong. While the Scorpio civilians were screaming about doom much like it had been predicted, Aquarius and Leo were not.

More research was needed...but there was no time now.

Somehow, everyone that had gone to the holding facilities were being freed from their confinement areas. No one knew who or got in, or how they got out, but many guards were injured in the process-- or worse.

The city turned into an all too (unfortunately) familiar sight. The Taurus civilians were causing havoc in the city, joined by others that the city had not predicted. Observers and Researchers quickly realized that these were all the earth signs, and a signal was given out; but too little, too late.

The city needed to fight back, lest it lose even more of its members. The situation was dire, but they had the Visitors on their side.

...For better or for worse.

▼ The Hour at Hand...(April 26th, 13th Hour)

13th Hour.

By now, the city was in chaos. For those who had witnessed the Scorpio outbreak it was an unfortunate similarity they might want to forget, but for others, this horror was brand new.

Giant mechanical bulls patrolled the city and continued to swarm, the police force trying to contain them and help as many as they could.

As time went on, mechanical parts and rocks fell to the floor from the bulls. Once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated, standing on two legs. And that wouldn't even be the worst of it...

And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission: you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Taurus Ward...

As the escapees moved to overrun the guards Elzam sighed. This was but one of many battles and this one was lost, it was up to the people on the ground to keep the violence to a minimum. However he flipped one camera to the scene and locked that data to broadcast to Latooni's robot.

"Something controls not just us but everyone. See what happens when they're let loose. Con....."

He trails off and the Aussenritter stalls for a second, a man in a black mask on a horse appearing over it, and speaking less aloud and more into the minds of those who can see it.

"I am thou. Thou art I. Riding the tornado of justice I, Zorro, come to protect the people!"

Flourishing with his sword, a flash of insight strikes Elzam(and a Marakunda spell is tossed at the Wildraptor), and the Aussenritter charges again, a trail of dust kicking up behind it as it pulls its second rifle.

"Consider what you see over what you deduce."

Armor reduced by a Persona. A quick mental calculation told her that even a glancing hit from one of Aussenseiter's beam rifles would take the Wildraubtier down now.

Worse, the analytical part of her mind knew he was right. There wouldn't be any immediate effect to what she was doing besides random destruction.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just her analytical mind that was being thrown out of whack right now.

"I...I want to be a hero. Like Ryusei. Like all of you," she admitted quietly, even as she gained altitude over the buildings and swung around to try and lock a missile on Aussenseiter's legs.

Noting the target lock the Aussenritter tossed one of its shoulder pads out towards the raptor as it zipped down a side street and behind a building.

"I'm no hero. Elzam Brandstein was a traitor who attacked the Earth, even if it was what was needed to be done to bring the people together to resist the Arrowgaters. That's why he had to go away. Only history can determine who is a hero and letting loose those who willingly locked themselves away when they were rational so they can rampage is not the act of a hero. It would have been like letting the Princess of Riksent free while she was in the Valcion instead of stopping her."

Ratsel's words made her hesitate again and miss the chance to fire, barrel-rolling out of the way of the thrown shoulder plate. Too low to the ground, she was forced to transform and land again, skidding to a stop behind a high-rise with her beam rifle drawn again.

He was right. There wasn't a better analogy than that, really. Not with what these people were doing.

"...how do you know what's 'necessary', Major?" she asked cautiously, voice low.

The Aussenritter moves around the corner guns drawn but not pointed at her robot.

"Look at your world, what will make it a better place for everyone? That's what's necessary."

She aims her beam rifle at Ratsel's mech...then lowers it.

Then she powers off the mech and the comm link before she starts audibly crying.

The Aussenritter does not lower its weapons but moves towards her robot, moving next to it and putting its unarmed hand on its shoulder.

"Lets go back and keep a low profile in these. I think the source of all this madness is best dealt with on foot."
