Who: Anyone who wants to go to school
Where: Any of the schools found in the Calendar (there are other schools, but your characters would only be going to those)
Summary: General School log! Start your own threads, make threads, or just have your character going to school and meeting the others. You have carte blanche.
Warnings: Nothing for now.

April 1st. While for many it would be a day for jokes and pranks, in Japan (and by extension, Hinoto-Ri who clung on some things from the past like precious memories), it was the start of the school year.

Those that were of age had gotten their papers already, and hopefully you had read the messages involving it. Otherwise, SURPRISE!

Thankfully, it didn't seem like the government was pushing for you to go absolutely, but they were STRONGLY SUGGESTING it for your own good. Your own enlightenment, if you will. Besides, it was free education, why pass that up?

These are the adventures of those inside of school on their first days...

He turns his head towards her when she speaks up, nodding back in greeting – she’ll probably find soon that he isn’t really one for much small talk.

“Likewise. I’m Riku.”

"You're here earlier than I would have expected... Have you attended this school before, by any chance?"

Aoi, meanwhile, is eager to find out about the classmates she'll be spending the rest of the year with. Hopefully she doesn't bug him too much!

While he won't initiate any talks, he isn't all that antisocial, thankfully. Have a light shrug.

"I've been here since January."

He actually chose to go back to school without any prodding from governmental side.

"So a little before even I came here... Due to the circumstances, I have to repeat this level." She looks a little embarrassed, but it really can't be helped. "Still... Not that many of us Visitors seemed interested in attending school before now. Do you mind if I ask why you took the initiative?"

There is no trace of anything but polite interest on his face at that revelation - it's not like he has any right to talk, given his hiatus. Everybody's got their own set of circumstances and as long as they don't relate to himself or a friend, Riku isn't particular prone to prying. His own are kind of complicated and not a topic that he opens up to a stranger about, especially when there is a much simpler answer.

"I just felt like it."

That is what it boils down to, ultimately. He may not have needed to go to school - and still doesn't - but it doesn't seem too bad an idea to have at least one Keyblade Master that graduated public high school around.

Who knows when that might come handy. Besides, it is nice to have something normal, like homework, to worry about.

She nods, happily accepting of this answer.

"That's good. I fear that many of the people here may neglect their studies just because it isn't mandatory, so... Seeing others who are interested in continuing their schooling makes me happy!"

He raises an eyebrow at that reply, looking lightly amused.

"You are pretty enthusiastic about this whole thing, aren't you?"

She gives a small, slightly embarrassed laugh. "Well, I used to be the student council president at home, so... I suppose it's hard to go back to being an ordinary student after getting so accustomed to it."

"Tell me about it."

Though it's probably still easier on her than on a world hopper like him.

"Is the school system similar to this in your world?" After talking to Avitus about apprenticeships and such, she can't help but wonder how much variation there could be on something she normally thought of as so stable. After all, education had to exist no matter where you went, didn't it?

...Give him a moment to think about that.

"...A little less complicated. And the level isn't quite as high from what I remember.

That might be just my impression though."

"Less complicated? In what way? Does your school not normally separate grades so cleanly, maybe?"

She's trying to imagine a different system as best as she can, but...

"Oh no, our grades are pretty similar. We only have one class per grade though."

Destiny Islands is a pretty small world after all.

"Oh, so it's just a smaller setting, then." That doesn't sound all that different! "But... you probably don't have to deal with the sorts of crowds that we get in a city this large, huh?"

A chuckle.

"No, I don't. My home is a very small place."

But part of something so much bigger.

"But even that can be pleasant in its own way, right? In the city at least, it can be difficult to find a quiet moment at times."

"It has some perks, yeah."

She looks about ready to say more, but as it's then that the bell rings, and she immediately falls silent. Still, she gives a single nod and a smile before turning her attention ahead.

He seems like a nice classmate to have... If they have a chance, she certainly wouldn't mind chatting with him again some other time.
