Summary: There's a new nightclub in town, and it's having its grand opening tonight
Warnings: This place is an adult entertainment venue, so potentially sex, drugs, alcohol, and things like that. Probably just regular mingling and chatting, though.

[Creepy graffiti be damned, this penguin has a club to open. It's been a busy few weeks: getting the electricity connected, hiring employees, orchestrating various demons that showed up looking for work that would suit their own appetites, and schmoozing with the locals in the area to ensure everything would go off smoothly without any native / visitor strife on the big night.

The work seems to have paid off, and the place is newly renovated and ready for business. The area around the entrance has been cleaned up, and there's a velvet rope outside to mark the building as something other than a simple warehouse. The door has an emblem of a cartoon DeDeDe giving a V-for-victory sign - his personal insignia from when he was still the king of Dreamland.

Piano music can be heard from behind the door, inviting visitors in for a night of adult pleasure. Do you enter?]

[There is entertainment in various corners of the bar in the form of dancers and strippers. DeDeDe hasn't hired any from among either the locals or the visitors yet, so currently this is being handled by some friendly succubus and incubus type demons that have agreed to help out around the club.

DeDeDe has also hired a few musicians to play in the bar part-time: Nikolai, Joshua, and Johnny. The rest of the time, the speakers simply play pre-recorded music in the background.]

[Nik wasn't too fond of this place already, but a job was a job. Playing here a few times a month was more than enough for him. He'll be playing some smooth, easy songs on guitar, per DeDeDe's request to fit with the atmosphere.

When not playing, he'll grab himself a drink and a smoke, and pick a corner by himself. Keeping away from all the demons, thanks.]

[There seemed to be one specific demon- oddly wearing pants, and not a damn pointed codpiece -sitting off to the side himself. He had a frown on his face, like he wasn't enjoying himself either, but seemed to lighten up when he spotted Nik lighting up a smoke.]

Those really do something for you, pal?

[Huh. An earnest-sounding incubus trying to shoot the breeze? That sure was...abnormal as hell.]

[Nik was surprised that a demon would try to make small talk. His voice was flat as usual though, and he shrugged lightly.]

Good for the nerves, bad for the lungs. It's a bad habit.

[Incu-kun nodded his head, the antenna bobbing along with the motion.]

Guess demons aren't the only one with bad habits, huh?

[He turned fully towards Nik, almost giving something like a smile, though he...wasn't the best at it. Like he'd learned it, rather than it being natural.]

Sorry if it's snoopin', but you don't seem very happy to be here, mate. Somethin' on your mind?

[Nik tapped his cigarette on the ashtray in front of him, giving the demon a look that was hard to read. Mostly because he was really unsure about talking to it. It must want something from him, right?]

This is not the sort of atmosphere I wished to play in, but work is work. I could say the same about you, though.

[ joshua's here, playing at a piano in between, er, frequent breaks. he does seem to be alarmingly good, so his work ethic isn't an issue - it's more of a matter of him taking note of everyone who walks into the building and their conversations... fortunately, he's a tiny slip of a kid hidden among the instruments, so his staring is half-unnerving and easily ignorable at worst. (that is definitely a kid, btw - no visor for him. he doesn't want to risk donning a mask in this kind of environment either... so barefaced he must be.)

[Here's the bossman, just checking up. He picks up the tip jar and shakes it around a little.]

Hm. Buncha cheapasses tonight.

[ have a casual wave, bossman! joshua gives him a winning smile. ] Like I said, I'm here for the love. If I've got an audience, I've got my tips, mm?

[He shrugs.]

The economics of the situation seems to be smiling down at you, as it were. I was wondering if the turnout would work in your favor, seeing as how we seem to be a little... Visitor focused, shall we say?

Can't do much about that. Ain't like I'm gonna turn anyone away at the door long as they're payin'. But don't you worry. The locals are startin' to take a bit of a shine to me - 'least around here, anyway.

Oh? Anything spark the change, or was it a matter of getting word out there?

Sometimes you just gotta show a little sympathy, lend an ear here and there, say the right thing. Not hard if you know how.

Sounds like a bit of a job, though - as soon as word starts spreading, you'll have a thousand different takes on the way you do business and not all of them will be nice. I hope that won't bother you?

[Having lived for over 700 years, his instrument options were not overly limited. Certainly, he didn't know everything, but he was good with the harp, cello, violin, flute, and the piano especially. Some of those options didn't really fit the mood, but he took full advantage of what he had.

Really, as long as people were enjoying the music or the atmosphere, that was good enough. Besides, the music and the bar, he was plenty busy and it all fed right into his social butterfly tendencies.]
