▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

*You can't be sure, but you swear you've started hearing a strange clonking sound at times when you've been out and about during the 13th hour. Perhaps it's just your imagination? It's hard to say.

Or maybe you're a newcomer, and you've just arrived. At the worst possible time. There's monsters everywhere, and you don't know what to do! And... what's that sound? It sounds kind of like wood on pavement.

These are odd nights, indeed.*

[One of those who noticed the sound is Ginko, who had finally grown too curious to avoid the city during this suspicious hour. He does his best to not provoke attention by calling out into the darkness, though.]

[He simply finds a spot to rest, taking a seat atop his wooden trunk and blowing mushi-repellent smoke around his form.]

"You're a brave one to rest when hearing mysterious sounds. Brave... or really stupid."

A small figure walks out of the shadows. To the uninitiated, he looks just like a little boy, with a strange cut of hair that should seem familiar to one like Ginko. Yet something about the way he carries himself seems odd. Almost otherworldly. You get the feeling he's more at home during this hour than all the others.

He sniffs the smoke, and winces. "That smells gross."

Once Desco realizes the clonking sound isn't her imagination, she quickly takes to the air and starts scanning her surroundings.

"Don't you know it's rude to spy on girls?"

A brief pause as she rests her claws on her hips.

"Desco will forgive you, though, because she knows she is just too cute. But you had better introduce yourself properly!"

Hmmm, interesting. The girl was an outsider, that much was obvious. But she looked and carried herself more like a youkai. Yet she had a Persona? Kitaro isn't entirely certain about the details, but he does seem a little more relaxed around this girl.

"I guess you are pretty cute, haha. I am Gegege no Kitaro." He bows. "You're an interesting one, aren't you? You look like you'd be more at home running around with the other youkai during this strange and spooky hour than you would hanging around with the humans all the other ones."

Desco grins happily, showing off her shark-like teeth as she flares the spine of her dress in a small curtsey.

"Desco is pleased to meet you!"

Her head tilts to one side as she considers you, the nictitating membranes flashing across her golden eyes in a series of full-body blinks.

"Desco does like this hour. There are even Prinnies to beat up!"

It's like a little taste of home.

The boy looks confused. "Prinnies?" He scratches his head. "I've never heard of a prinny. I wonder if Father knows?"

He doesn't really question the whole "beating up" thing. Humans beating up youkai was one thing. Youkai beating up other youkai is just another Tuesday.

Desco folds her arms across her chest and scowls briefly before launching into a lecture.

"When a sinful human dies, they go to Hades, where Desco is from, and get turned into Prinnies! Then, they undergo harsh training to become hard working servants and get shipped out to other Netherworlds, where they do backbreaking labor for below minimum wage until they can pay for their reincarnation!"

She places her claws on the sides of her head and furiously ruffles at her hair in agitation.

"Ahhh! If not even a native demon knows this, then what is happening to sinful humans?! Is the entire afterlife broken?!"

He blink at her reaction, then chuckles. "All right, all right, I'm sorry. I guess things work a little differently around here than for you. I've been to the afterlife a few times myself, and I haven't seen anything like that myself. Sorry."

He's finding himself liking her despite himself.

Desco nods graciously.

"It's alright. Desco will just have to put fixing the afterlife on her to-do list."

...ho boy. A youkai, maybe, but a real piece of work. "Um, I don't think you need to do that. Really."

Desco is a bit confused by this.

"But it's a problem that needs addressing!"

Slight pause.

"And also if Desco fixes the afterlife she can finally recruit some minions."
