The 13th Hour - GENERAL LOG
The 13th Hour
◐
Who: AnyoneWhere: The entire city
When: This week
Summary: This is a General 13th hour log.
Warnings: That depends who is there
Music: This
When it is darkest, men see the stars...
The snow was falling softly in the night sky when the heavens turned red again. The nearly black sphere of the upcoming new moon meant the monster population wasn't overly aggressive and the creatures wouldn't offer much challenge.......or that's what was supposed to happen.
That night, there was a strange pull. The demons had acted odd that day, but even when asked, they were unsure why. To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job.
It was a good thing he had. As the first minute of the 13th hour continued, something happened...the signature tail in the sky of something appearing, much like when the Guests had shown up. Only this time it was hundred of such little signals. The sky was filled with them, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible. Something was wrong.
Something was very wrong.
New creatures began to move around the city. For some, it would be creatures they might have wanted to forget. Yet for others, this would soon be forgotten when not flesh but stone, rock and metal, rose from the very ground, pieces of their homeworld reborn in Hinoto-Ri...
Extra Long OOC Blurb
[(Make sure you read it!) Alright 13th hour post!
This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour. Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log only You can level a persona twice meaning if they are used in a post with one group and in a post with another group, you can level up your persona twice. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on two different days. You can do this with only one persona, however.
For the buildings, each one gets its own thread. The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).
FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! No boss characters that night, since it isn't a full moon. Also make sure your characters could logically take onthe creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant tree when they couldn't normally.]

Useless, useless, useless!
No, there had to be something he could do... he flinched, moving, hoping to get their attention, even if it was harmful... reaching out a hand as though somehow it would make things better...
If only I could
Something inside of him twists a little, a thought drifting back to the first thing he could remember, that word, the meaning behind it...
Persona...
He clamps down on that twisting feeling, drawing at it almost desperately, unsure of what it means but not caring if it will do something for the young lady under assault. His lips move without thinking, as for the first time power rages through his core.]
... time...
[The clock... it seems almost imposing, but at the same time so intimately familiar that he's not sure what to think. Its hands begin to sweep backwards rapidly, and cool, refreshing energy winds its way around the two of them. He feels better somehow, even if he wasn't the one who was attacked...]
no subject
Still, she isn't sure she has the time to summon Echo again, so instead she just raises her hand, calling her own magic to her hand and firing off a Blizzara spell, which connects with the same creature she first hit earlier and explodes as the Days brand of Blizzara does.
Compared to the Kouha from earlier though, the Blizzara has a much more striking reaction. The creature writhes and vanishes, and the other two, clustered as they were shrink back, giving Xion a chance to get back to her feet, calling over to Xehanort]
Thanks! [She casts a relieved and grateful smile over in his direction.] If you can use anything with ice they don't seem to like it.
[If he doesn't though, that wasn't a problem. She could probably finish it off from here.]
no subject
Then he frowns a little. Ice? He didn't even know what he'd just done to begin with, let alone if there was somehow ice involved... he frowned, focusing, trying to find the power that he'd used before, grasping deeply for a moment or two to connect with it...
It took longer than he'd thought, one... two... three heartbeats before he could feel it happen again. Ice... ice... no ice, what else could he do that might help... anything... he reached out a hand, grasping for a moment as though he could touch her, before a different sort of energy filled him. Something warm and almost exciting, as though suddenly he was more powerful than before.]
no subject
She sent a more simple Blizzard spell at one of the creatures, before striking out at the other with her Keyblade. Once they'd lost the advantage of surprise, they really weren't that difficult to defeat at all. She probably could have taken care of them, though without Xehnort's help she would have taken quite a few more hits until she'd been able to strike back.
The monsters gone, Xion pauses for a moment to catch her breath and send a mental warning about the monsters to Aqua. Then she looks up, smiling a little tiredly]
Thanks again. [She looks where the monsters had been before they vanished and back] We should probably get out of here, before any more come.
no subject
[Relief washes over his face, and he hurries over to where she's standing. Questions are already forming in his mind, but this isn't really the time or place for them. She's right, they should move on, especially if there are monsters on the loose. They may have already been attracted to the sounds of struggle and be en route.]
Do you still feel that pull? [He gestures for her to lead on, once more they can talk while they move.] Has it changed at all?
no subject
[It seems... important to reassure him of this, for some reason. It certainly seemed to matter a lot to him... She starts moving forward again, pausing only briefly to gather her bearings.]
It's still there. I think... I think it's closer though.
no subject
[He's content to follow her for a bit, before finally curiosity gets the better of him.]
What do you make of that... power. The... persona?
no subject
Still, Personas, though...]
It's... different. I'm so used to using my magic, though there are some things it can do that I can't.
[Like that blast of light. There was also her Keyblade, but she doesn't use that nearly as much anymore.]
no subject
Magic... you were freezing them. [She'd said to use ice.]
... I guess... what do you do with that kind of power? It's something that everyone has, but...
[He remembers the words of his only memory... to save or to destroy. His brow creases. It's all far too vague for him.]
no subject
I don't know... you can probably use it all kinds of ways. ["the greatest wonders and the most ruin" Aqua had said] But for me... I use it to keep myself and my friends safe... and heal them if they're hurt.
[Admittedly, she can't use magic in a lot of ways, she's only just learning to with Aqua. But even so, in the end her reasons probably won't be too different, which was the important part, right?]
no subject
Keep your friends safe... [A nod, and a bit of a smile.] I think you're right. I don't really have many friends, but... I think that they're worth protecting.
(1/2)
That's good, that you've got friends like that here.
[Ones that you want to protect. Because having friends like that... it's the best feeling in the world. Without her friends, friends whom she'd have died to save... she doesn't know where she'd be. She's thought about it, yeah, but...
That was a thought for another time...]
(2/2)
And then she looks skyward.
... of course. Why hadn't she seen it sooner? Yes, the light was strange and it looked so different here, but that shape was unmistakeable, the arches and bells against the sky, the spired rooftop...
She stares wide-eyed for a moment, before breaking into a run. She pauses only briefly, half turning to wave him to follow her]
Come on, it's here!
no subject
This? It's huge...
no subject
It's really here. I don't know how but it's here!
[She turns to look at him]
This place is from home.
[From somewhere she hasn't been in months, more than half her life... This place that she loved so much.]
no subject
From your home?
[It's strange, to see something from someone else's past in actual solid form. For a moment he's almost jealous... she has a past to conceptualize. There's been no such pull for him. Is that because he has no past to speak of?
He pushes that thought out of his mind. There's no point in dwelling on it. There's things to be investigated, first.]
Will you show me?
no subject
Still, she'll poke her way around, pointing out the ticket booth, the empty train tracks... there's even an odd moment where she'll go over to one of the trash cans and laugh at what she finds (a vast array of what looks like popsicle sticks).
It's all exactly like she remembers.
At one point, she'll pause in her tour.]
To tell the truth it's not exactly my home, sort of...
[She pauses, before turning back over her shoulder to look at Xehanort.]
Has anybody told you about the different worlds from back home?
[It hadn't occurred to her until just then, but if the first thing he remembered was arriving in Hinoto-Ri... then...]
no subject
When she begins to talk, it's a bit surprising.]
What do you mean? ... there are people from multitudes of worlds here. Is our world a place like this, where people from many worlds can exist in one?
no subject
[She thinks of Disney Castle, and Hollow Bastion. Even Destiny Islands counted, since Kairi was not native to the world]
Back home... there are many different worlds. Each one is different - there are different people, different places... The thing about back home though is that the worlds are all separate, and only some people really realize that there are other worlds out there. It's also really hard to travel between them. Not everybody can do it.
[She walks over to a wall of the Clock Tower and puts her hand on it, fingers spreading out]
The world this place is from is called Twilight Town. It's one of my favorites, but it's not where I was born... or where I live most of the time.
Apparently the worlds all used to be one big world once, though... it's not entirely clear what happened. There's an old kids story about it, though.
[The one Kairi told her]
no subject
[This takes a little bit. He rolls the words around in his mind, taking what she's said, turning it over and over again until it all breaks down. He's not from a single place, the same place as anyone else... they're probably from all different places.
There's no way he'll ever know anything about the world he came from. Not without pinning Terra down and questioning him.
He keeps the frown from crossing his face and instead thinks about what that means. Infinite possibility... limitless knowledge. All sorts of people and cultures. It's fascinating in the same way that Hinoto-ri is. That makes up for the lack of direct connection to anything in its own way. He doesn't need to connect to any one place when there's far too many places to be.]
Twilight Town... it sounds picturesque. The evenings must be beautiful.
[A pause.]
What sort of story?
no subject
[There was nothing more beautiful, she thought. Even now... she still remembered that one sunset - the one she'd thought would be her last. In a way, except for that brief stint in the digital one (which didn't count in her mind), that was though unlike what she'd thought at the time, there was still some hope to seeing it again in the future.
She'd seen so many beautiful things in her travels, but that one sunset with her friends put them all to shame. Always.
That's a story for another time, though. The story he'd asked about, meanwhile... She looks down, trying to recall the words that Kairi had used.]
Well... it's a children's story so... not all of it may make sense but...
[She turns around, leaning her back against the wall and looking up]
A long, long time ago, there was the world, the people in it, and the Light. Everyone loved the Light and they were happy, but eventually... they started to love it too much. They fought over it, trying to keep it to themselves.
That's when Darkness was born.
The fighting got worse, until the Darkness swallowed up all everything, and the world vanished.
[She looks down again]
But... small fragments of light survived, in the hearts of children. With those bits of light, they managed to rebuild the worlds as we know them now.
And that's why there'll always be light, even in the deepest darkness.
[Silence falls after her words, until she looks up, smiling sheepishly]
Kairi tells it better than I do.
no subject
Is our world a dark world, where such a reassurance would be necessary?
[A reassuring smile.]
It was well told. It's nice to hear stories spoken aloud, the way they were meant to be told.
