Cataclysm [June 8th Open City Log for all Players]
Who: Open to All
Where: INSIDE the city.
When: From the 8th until the early morning of the 9th.
Summary: Something hits the barrier, and the entire city ends up in a state of panic.
Warnings: Depends on the players!
"Good morning, Hinoto-Ri! It is now eight in the morning, and time to buckle down for most of the working population! Please work hard for the sake of the city! Thank you! Weather today is more rain in the next hour and more rain until night in all the wards, no exceptions! The rain from the past few days continues to pour and--wait...what's that noise?"
A rumble was the first warning that something was wrong. The bustle of animals trying to escape the city was next, as birds gathered in the sky circling, unable to leave. It wasn't too long before the worst happened. Perhaps due to the morning fog and bad weather, it was impossible to see the giant object before it was too late, as it slammed against the city's protective barrier.
The entire city shook and was awoken to the sharp, painful sound of what could almost be a bomb going off, impossible to ignore. Buildings broke down as a giant earthquake rumbled for a few seconds, leaving in its wake a carnage of overturned vehicles, collapsing buildings and debris free-falling everywhere- the epicenter in the Leo Ward.
Whatever had caused this had already disappeared from view... Yet, those that had seen it crash would have noticed a large black form over city hall. A sort of stain in the barrier. Then, to the sound of screeching and windows breaking, a single giant piece of the crystal-like substance began to crack above in the sky, falling onto town hall. Just one piece, perhaps small compared to the barrier itself, but more than enough to cause severe property damage, sending half of the building tumbling right into the police headquarters and destroying part of that too.
Electricity went out in Leo, plunging the ward into near darkness. Apart from the hospital that instantly ran on auxiliary power, of course. The public network went down, depriving Hinoto-Ri of communication between the public, leaving only the visitor's own.
And while the barrier still held up, a very thin strand separating the world outside from Hinoto-Ri was now visible above the Leo Ward, casting a strange light over the carnage.
From the other wards, not everyone would know what happened right away. It almost seemed impossible, after all. A nightmare come to life.
It was over in barely a minute, but the city's entire face had drastically changed.

[OOC: This is the first of the upcoming event logs, and will take place on June 8th exclusively!
As of a note, that night, the 13TH HOUR WILL LAST 2 HOURS INSTEAD OF ONE so if you want to include that in one of your prompts, please go for it!
Characters can start their own threads, or reply to others. Subjects can be anything you think would make logical send during this day; keep in mind the city is in a state of panic and the public network is down, so anything goes from trying to save their apartments, to helping civilians to realizing what's going on during the 13 Hour. Make sure you mark down the time of your post so that other players are aware of when it's happening.
If you want information about the event, the post is here. Characters are HIGHLY encouraged to mingle with each other. NPCs and demons may show up in certain threads too, so keep your eyes peeled and have fun with each other!
A note to new players; there will be another log posted on the 9th for new players who wish to show up behind the barrier.]

The sweet, sweet taste of victory. Of course there was more to a game than winning, but winning certainly felt pretty good.....
"Thank you. You were a great help, as well...." A slight smile, a small nod. This player was.... quite alright, by the looks of it.
"..... sorry, I don't think I caught your name....?"
no subject
"Call me Kanji," he replies, nodding back at her. "What 'bout you?" He pauses for a moment, curious - "And how long've ya been doing this?"
no subject
Nanami does skip a beat before she nods in response. She probably skipped more than one metaphorical beat in this conversation, being one with reactions as delayed as hers is.
And besides, that battle was exhaustingly exciting.
".....I'm Nanami Chiaki. It's nice to meet you." Hooray for socializing stock phrases! She feels her quaintly-nicknamed 'server lag' catching up again now that the excitement's died down, reaching up to muffle a yawn.
"Me? Oh..... not for very long...." She shrugs. "But I've been working pretty hard on it, you can say."

no subject
"...mmm, of course..." She mutters with eyes closed, just as you'd start wondering if she really just dozed off like that before your eyes.
"It's kind of like a game, after all." Nanami continues, a little more pointedly this time as she straightens slightly- long enough for her to rub her eyes a bit. "I'm good at games."
....zzzz.
It's hard to tell if she's asleep or not because she responded, she's still standing up, but she's also kind of starting to snore softly.
no subject
"It's not a game! You could get seriously..."
...Not impressed. He leans over and gives her a sharp tap on the shoulder.
no subject
"Mnh. I'm fine....." Her Persona buzzes gently as it fades into a blue mass and ultimately disappears."....just tell me when we leave.....or did you.... need, some.....zzz....zz...zz.."
no subject
no subject
".....Libra Five- Oh Three." She makes a soft tcsh in response to the shake, opening her eyes with a huff of air. "It seems like a waste to let the extra hour go.... ......"
Nevermind that she would've wasted it anyway by snoozing; that point doesn't seem to register. Nanami adds afterwards, with the impression that bouncing back questions was something you did to socialize- "...where do you live?"
no subject
After all, for all he knows - this could be it. This could be permanent.

Somehow, even though she's yawning every few minutes, Kanji doesn't need to steer her too much- as time goes on she stops nearly veering off-course. The touch is weird, but Nanami keeps quiet about it because she's not really sure if it's a good weird or a bad weird. Besides, there are better things to worry about- like the perpetual subconscious dilemma of taking a nap where she stood or reluctantly engaging the world.
"Hmm..... that's true. The city'll need longer patrolling hours over these few days...." That's longer patrolling hours.... and more levelgrinding opportunities. Nanami isn't sure if that's a good thing or not, either. "Hmm. Hmm....."
no subject
"No idea what the city's gonna need. We're gonna have to see."
((oh btw I don't quite remember if I've asked you how okay you were with spoilers...?))
(She walks right past the metaphorical trail and lets it go cold. Deep personal secrets were your own to keep, anyway.)
".....mmhmm. Do weird strings of events happen like this often?"
Spoil away, I'm probably never going to play any DRs. ^^;
Still just walking, still just looking around them warily.
no subject
.... ..... ... A few moments of pause.
"..... maybe we could steer closer to the buildings?" When Nanami next speaks it's raising a point with a mild sense of revelation, all signs of her previous train of thought nonexistent. "If I'm not wrong some of them have anti-demon spells to keep demons away.... ... I'm assuming we're done for the hour."
no subject
He thinks about her suggestion for a moment - "And yeah, that's probably a good idea. Assumin' that whatever trashed things earlier ain't trashed the wards, too."
no subject
Nanami yawns lightly again- still drowsy, but more alert than her snoozing spell earlier.
"Mmhmm, it doesn't hurt to give it a try. We can test for sure whether they're still working, then." Nanami cocks her head slightly. "And besides, even if they fail, we have us!" She fished her Evoker from her pockets, twirling it once.
no subject
"Yeah. Got that right. But it ain't like we really went around talkin' about havin' Personas to everyone back home ... it was all pretty secret. Man, it's different here."
no subject
"Oh, I see. ....." Secret abnormalities, huh. Interesting. The (secret) existence of things like these were things to fuel the belief of conspiracy theories everywhere. Seemed like something out of a videogame plot, honestly. Nanami could see it now.... "What other secret things did you have? Was there a whole underground movement surrounding these Persona or was it just, sort of isolated?"
They were walking. Making their way downtown, walking fast. Demons pass. Apartment bound. Hmm... should she make something to drink or snack on for herself when she gets back later, or would she be too tired for that...

.....
Interesting dissertation of sorts. Kanji's right, though, he loses absolutely nothing telling her this. It's good to know, but Nanami can't do jack shit with this information. Nanami isn't sure how to handle a lot of facts a person offers about themselves, generally, that might be why. If only all relationship points could be accumulated through just beating up mooks together, like it's done in some games.
".... .... oh, by the way, I think that's the Libra ward up ahead...."
no subject
"Looks like it," he comments, glancing up at the buildings coming into view.
no subject
"....thanks, by the way..."
Yeah, that was weird.
"For tonight, I guess?"
no subject
The familiar sights of the district are still good to see, though. He glances about just to make sure that they're home safe.
no subject
"Libra fifth floor, right? We're really almost neighbours, wow..." she repeats as the apartment block comes into view and she can see her own flat if she tilts her head back.
